Composed strictly of the two instruments (drums: Pablo, bass: Solomon) as well as the mysterious vocal influences of front man Solomon's peculiar interpretation of his role in society, Sigmund Droid packs a serious punch of aggressive power punk laced with illusive and subtle musical nuances. Solomon's vigorous bass crunch and Pablo's explosive and almost mechanical beats compliment the group's romantic and crafty lyrics, allowing the passion and soul to reverberate beyond the minimal instrumentation. Sigmund Droid's overdriven bass-riffs rock to the same head-banging intensity as those of Rage Against the Machine, Death From Above 1979 and the White Stripes while remaining insatiably groovy and danceable a la Justice style. The appropriation and recycling of classic riffs – most notably in "Psychic Healer," a critique of the Talking Head's "Psycho Killer" – and the peculiar stories told in songs like "Liverpool Sluts" and "Sigmund Droid" demonstrate the duo's use of sampling and satire to humor the musically savvy fan.
